Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information blackops.com LLC ("we", "us") collects when you visit blackops.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- "Notify me" sign-up. When you sign up for updates we store your email address, the name you enter (optional), the date and time, and your IP address.
- Story submissions. When you submit a story we store your email address, the story title, the story text, and the date and time. The first time you use an email address we also store it with your IP address, as above.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
- Display preference. If you use the dark-mode switch, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage). It is not sent to us.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics services, and we do not set our own cookies.
How we use your information
- To send you the updates you asked for.
- To publish the stories you submit (see "Public stories" below).
- To prevent spam and abuse and to keep the Site secure.
- To comply with the law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Public stories
Stories you submit are published on the Site with their title, date and time. Your email address is never shown publicly. Please do not include personal details in a story that you do not want published. We may edit or remove any story at any time.
Third-party services
- YouTube. Videos on the Site are embedded from YouTube (Google). When a video loads, Google may collect information and set cookies under its own privacy policy.
- Hosting. The Site is hosted by a third-party provider that processes server logs on our behalf.
- External links. Links to other sites, such as Amazon, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep sign-up and story information until you ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it for the purposes above.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop sending you updates, by emailing support@blackops.com. Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights, including the right to know what we collect and the right not to be discriminated against for using your rights. We will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we store, but no website can guarantee complete security.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
